Anyone tried Hookers w/ ATS mounts?

I am looking seriously at the ATS mounts for my 69 Firebird convertible. I am not looking at their $2,000 headers although I've heard good things about them. My question is if anyone has tried the hooker LSx headers with the ATS mounts? Hooker was also supposed to have their own mounts but I've heard nothing more about them. I also want to retain my o2 sensors and want to know if the Hookers have provisions.

A lot of questions, hopefully some on the board will have the answers.

      Thanks!

They will work but they might touch the box just a little, maybe Jeff will chime in here, he has the set up,

Have you joined LS1tech.com and looked in the hybrid/coversions section, you should check it out!!!

I am on LS1tech as well, but didn't find anything over there either. I also asked Jegs about the Hooker mounts and they didn't know anything about them. I'll probably go ATS on mounts, but can't afford their headers- just trying to figure out options.

      Thanks.

I have the ATS mounts and am using them with the Hooker headers. They come very close to the steering box and the pitman arm, but do not cause any interference. Tyler recommends the 302 spec frame mounts for the engine because it puts the engine lower, but I ended up using the regular small block frame mounts because my oil pan was too close to the cradle.

Worse comes to worse you just have to massage them a little. I think with some headers on a small block you have to do that anyway, at least I remember having to do that.

Van_B, do the Hookers came with O2 provisions? I'd imagine you aren't using them looking at your engine size, but I'd like to. I'll just have to tap them and put in a bung if not.

      FWIW,

I have both the S&P Plates and the Holley Plates. The S&P plates position the motor more forward BUT lower. Conversely, the Holley plates sit the motor further back but higher.

I bought a set of the Holley/Hooker Long tube headers. However with the S&P plates the headers hit the steering box.

So, I welded up the Holley plates. Then drilled and tapped them to sit lower but in their original position (closer to the firewall).

I ended up with plates that position the motor tight to the firewall (holley's position) and Lower (S&P's position).

The headers now have plenty of clearance.

      Before With the S&P Mounts

AFTER With the Modified Holley Mounts

I will try and find the photos of the header interference (before) and header clearance(after).

The headers come with slip on extensions that have O2 bungs. I am not using them because I think they neck down to 2.5 inches or something like that. I had my exhaust guy put bungs in right after the collector in the event that I want to go with EFI or run a wideband O2 for tuning purposes.
