      Herb,
Thank you so much for posting that. I was scrambling this morning trying to find a source for Travis to call and was coming up empty.

      Travis,
Our LED lights wouldn't work for your application because they're engineered to mount into circuit boards that are computer designed and cut out to specific dimensions.
There's a logic chip that has a burned-in code so the LEDS know what to do when they get a signal. For the unit assemblies to work, they need to figure out whether they are getting a turn, brake, or running light signal from the car. Unfortunately, they can't be just mounted on some surface and have power applied to them. The bulbs online are just that - replacement bulbs.

      No problemo.

I hope it doesn't appear that I was trying to steal your business away, but for the guys with unusual rides, sometimes the small/low volume business that can do custom stuff is the only option.

I was actually interested in tinkering around with it myself; I am just looking for a source of high quality/high intensity LEDs, such as those they use in some of the newer cars these days. Do they only come in clear, or can you get red and amber as well?

I've tried the drop-in 1157 replacements in other vehicles, and IMO they were just plain dangerous for use in tail lights during the day. They never made it out of my driveway. I have used them in front turn signal applications with clear lenses, but again in the daylight they tended to get washed out pretty badly.

I'll see you on the 2nd. The owner is coming with me, also. We'll talk then.
Reaaaalllllyyy...hmmmm...just so happens I do have an extra set.....hmmmm..... I'll dig them out.

BTW, I need a catalog. I need to start plotting the 67, and I need a headlight harness for the 77.

Semi-Educated shot in the dark here; are the Luxeon line of LED's sufficient for projects like this?

I'm not sure if that question was directed to me, but we are unfamiliar with the Luxeon line of products so I can't answer your question. Perhaps others can... Sorry.

It was directed at anyone who'd listen, lol.

I almost think it would be a safe assumption, since they claim to have the highest luminosity, and cost $2-$4 a piece rather than 50-60 cents the generics go for.

I hope the 71-72 chevelle kit will include white reverse lamps as well b/c no one else has them. ( Just my 2 cents: its stupid to get led taillights when you have 4 lights only 2 of which you can get in LED) Just a thought, but thanks for the list u posted

I should have also mentioned that the left light is the LED and the right light still has a standard bulb, for comparison.

      Hey Martin,

      Go here: http://www.spaghettiengineering.com/...p?idProduct=33

it seems that as of this past week american autowire has sold the led taillight part of the business. description sounds interesting, but I'd have to wait and see it before buying. Simple led bulbs might be better than the "animated" ones.

We are a dealer for them and have a price on them, but will need to check and see if they are available yet. When they took over, I was told 2-4 weeks before shipments began and that was a week ago. Price is $209 and I have them 10% off right now.
