thinking about a 72 chevelle?

hey guys i sold the orange 69 car i have . i am now looking at a all stock brand new paint 72 chevelle. it is a 350 car fact air , fact 4 speed , fact 12 bolt . it has 21 options and the build sheet with it , also 93,000 original miles. anyone have a clue what it's worth i stock form . ? like i said brand new paint and a very good job . i am looking at a lower budget pro touring cruiser, for my dad to go to shows with me . he loved the orange car pulling in with all the looks , so i need something to keep him going with me !
here are some of my thought for the build !



18's front
20's rear
lowering it , it sits way up there !
bear brakes or SSBC, front and rear
maybe some silver factory style stripes , the car is bright white now .

Color? bench or buckets?cowl hood? ss?
Without the above answers, 70-72 chevelles are pretty strong these days. I would guess if there is no rust issues and a decent color it would be worth $12,000 to $16,000.

the car was in good shape to start with . it is white now(and was originally) with the factory blue interior . the car is a standard malibu not an SS but a SS hood was added to it when painted with the working flapper . it has the build sheet to it and came with 21 options . it is a factory 12 posi car but not an SS , i guess this is rare. it also is a bench seat car with air , original motor, trans is only thing not original .

the doors shut like its new and is a very firm solid driving car .

would $20,000 be out of reach with 18's and 20's with hotchkis suspension or airride and baer brakes all the way around to sell when i am done with it ?

$20,000 would be a good price if you do all those upgrades, but what will they cost? I'm guessing the upgrades you suggest alone are around $5000 to $6000. At that figure if you pay $15,000 for the car, you will be upside down. Of course if you can get it for $10,000, you will be ok.Another thing to remember if you are already planning to sell it when completed is that not everyone likes 20's. Maybe a better plan would be alittle more conservative choice on wheel size.BTW- I put 15x10 on the rear of a 70 once upon time so I know the wideth is ok.
