tick tick a-tick tick
I just finished installing Comp cams 213-3 complete kit. On cylinder #2 exhaust there is a definite “tick” noise coming from the lifter. I swapped lifters and the noise remained. I contacted Comp cams tech help and they gave me the “I don’t know what it is” answer. I got a “it might be a bad lifter” at the most. What do you all think? Most everybody said to put 500 miles on it and reevaluate the noise.

Have you checked for an exhaust leak? How about the intake gasket? Those are very common. Also, take a look at the pushrod and rocker. Just make sure you get every possible angle on it.

yup, i checked out the pushrod and rocker. i put my stethascope (sp) thingy on the adjusting nut and found the noise. it doesn't start untill about 5-10 seconds after startup which would tell me hydraulics.
