      Finally showing some progress

I had my car at my buddy’s body shop all weekend. I really made some progress, I Plan to trailer it up there ever weekend until I get it done. I haven’t chose a final color or any thing yet so we are just going to paint it signal stage black so I can find all the imperfections, fix the flaws and then do it all over again until I am satisfied. I don’t want to keep it their during the week because it will have to sit in my trailer all week while the shop is open. The parking lot is not that well lit and I Really like my car I an just afraid some one mite like it more than I do.

Even though I've grown to hate grinding metal, there is something very satisfying about body work. Looks nice! I want to see your flush-mount window work too ...

      Brian & JP,
I got back from Bonneville. It'll take me a few days to get myself back to reality and get much-needed sleep. I'll start working on your stuff on this coming Friday.

      John,
Actually I only took one picture of flooded salt flats. You rarely see something new after going to Speed Week for several years, and I was fairly busy as a volunteer worker this year (but SCTA paid me $470! :icon996: )

David Pozzi showed up on Monday night, and we cruised around in my Riv on Tuesday and Wednesday during my spare time. He was taking a bunch of pics.

Here are some samples from www.scta-bni.org and www.landracing.com...

My friends' friend Freddy Dannenfelzer's 330mph Lakester

      308mph Firebird

      A REAL Mercedes gull wing

Stang Cobra set 203mph record in C production supercharged class

Remember the Model T I built the chassis for? It did the best of 127mph. My prediction of 130mph was damn close. They finally realized they need properly-built bigger motor to go faster (duh!). However, the car did track straight and was very stable, according to my friend Ed Whiteley (he's driven at 200+ in a '53 Stude). Ed made the first pass in the car just to check things out since none of guys in the team have ever driven on salt.

John Rains' awesome 295mph single-turbo v6 Firebird. He set a new record @ 278-ish in different class this year.

Al Bloomberg's 205mph Pantera. We bent roll cage for this car.

Gotta get back to work now. I'll add some more later.

Likes like your car is moving along nicely, Brian. I'd like to see the flush mount window work as well.

Awesome!! It's nice having friends in high places--or in your case: dusty places. You're lucky!! Not only saving $$$ on body work but you don't have to worry about your car getting lost in the body shop "twilight zone".
      Keep the pix coming
