Newbie from the UK - Poncho owner

Helloooo...Im happy to find this place, exactly what ive been looking for.

Ive got a Special Edition (bandit) '79 trans am 400 4spd manual with WS6.

Its undergoing a bit of rolling resto with emphasis on making it go stop, go and handle as well as possible while keeping it a stock looking car.

Im looking to buy one of those 461 'rotating assembly' kits from summit and building it up with that, a nice cam and some grinding work etc. That along with some solid body mounts and subby connectors to stiffen things up a bit, and some stiffer springs and shocks. (plus loads more obviously)

Im also from England, UK....and run a small forum here called MuscleCarsUK.com. I've played with cars quite a lot in recent years, and that includes working at a tuning firm and garage....also done studies in electronics and now run a web design business (dont ask. lol). What im getting at is, i will probably be sponging info off you all, but hope i can give at least a little input where possible. I look forward to reading through and contributing to these forums.

      Thanks,
      John Gray

Welcome to the forum, good to have more second gens. I visited England in July and had a great time. Saw signs for an American car, car show but it was after I was scheduled to leave... Post pics of your Trans Am!

      I'm new here, too.

Instead of buying a kit from Summit, I'd recommend you talking to some of the Pontiac specific builders and suppliers...there are a lot of nuances that you may or may not be aware of, and for the small-nominal extra pounds, you would have their knowledge at your disposal.

Also, look into Performanceyears.com and click on the forums for a ton of information.

      Good luck.
