Finding the angles

Can someone find the angles that are circled. The drawing is not to spec.

Can I ask why you are designing the rails with all of those compound angles? It would be much easier to build the kick-up flat and simply step over to it at the first joint. There is nothing to be gained for strength with the compound angles and it just makes it very difficult to build....

I was going to use as many 90 degree ends as possible with the angles to get my set back and height.

Total width from end to end is 41" so I might have to change my lengths inbetween(but not the top 4.5" piece)

Mark, I was thinking about that. Your pretty much saying to build the kick up AND step back into the same piece... If thats the case... My 14" lengths will now be 17" which is fine. I was concerned with how to tie into the frame the easiest way. As it sits its a pain in the ass, but I should be able to get it. Could you then help me with those angles?

I figured that I would ask here first,.. and Vince, its not to scale, its just my ideas on paper. I'll hit the graph paper tonight if nothing else.

Definately have to go back to the drawing board. I have to clear a floor brace, come up 4.5"s to be flush with the floor pan, and another 4.5"s to be at the proper height.

90 degree cuts won't work well when fitting tubing at compound angles... You will end up with a bunch of cliff hangers and open tube ends to weld too.
Give me a couple of days. Work up your "new" design and post it. I'll see what I can do with it.

He means your gonna have ends hanging over other ends and d huge gaps to fill

you must split the angle evenly to get matching ends o butt together and weld

And just think I dont even have grammer school education =)

Okay Matt, I did a quick design study this morning using the dims you gave me in the PM...

CLOSE UP OF OVERHANGS

CLOSE UP OF UNDERCUTS

You can see a lot of over hanging and undercut corners with this design. Of course it could be done by hand fitting small pieces into the undercuts and trimming the overhangs and fitting small pieces there. That is a lot of hand fitting but you could make it work.

Kevin, it's UG NX3 (here at work). I built the model in less then 5 minutes with three straight lines and a couple of trims.
