      Phil -

I was looking at your project and it looks awesome. Next time I am up in NH I would love to see it. Any ET on completion? Have you ever come down to Worcester for the Summer Nationals?

I was on vacation with the family all of last week, so not a ton of progress, but the car is now in my garage and I have installed the Dynamat:

...Some advice, WHERE GLOVES WHEN INSTALLING! My hands are covered with tiny paper (or aluminum) cuts. It took me a lot longer to install than I expected...about 10-12 hours. And I still need to do the doors and roof. I have 2 pieces left after purchasing 2 bulk packs (72 sq ft total), so I will end up using about 2.5 boxes total. I installed it under the cowl and up to the dash in the front. I have some 3M rubberized spray that I will be using on the interior on the qtrs. and hinge area.

Up next is to install my harness that Frank helped me order from American Autowire (the one with the connectors already intalled).

You may want to take your dynomat one step further. Check pic below.
I have upgraded my firewall with extremeliner over my dynamat, then installed the factory pad as well. This is what the tech people at Dynomat recommended. I have no heat issues from the firewall even in 90 degree heat.

Damn, not bad at all! I assume you had a few knicks and scratches in the chrome previously. How did you fill those in before the chrome paint?

Suprisingly, there weren't any deep cuts. The chrome was simply warn off. If I did have any cuts, I probably would have tried some light sanding with fine sandpaper.

One word DROOL! The '69 Firebird is my favorite of the 60's f-body cars. I will be watching this one.

      Thanks for the compliments guys.

Morgan - I missed your post, sorry for not responding. I am thinking a year to a year and a half to complete. Feel free to stop by when you are in the area, just drop me a note. I am right off of Route 495. As for shows, I am relatively new to the area so I am not sure which ones I will be attending. How many cars do they get at the Worcester show?

Wayne- I did not paint the dash. I thought about it, but once I cleaned it with some dish soap and a scrubby and used some armor all, it didn't need it!

No new pics yet, but the fuse box is in, I need to finish up the roof with Dynomat, and on Sunday I plan on getting most of the behind the dash electrical, vent, and pedal stuff done.

There is a crack where the upper left corner screw goes, but it is easily glued and concealed. I don't know how these are to find for the Camaro, but Firebird dashes are getting VERY hard to find, aren't repro'd and usually have the radio area hacked up. I have seen good ones go for $800 on eBay. This one came with my project car and I feel VERY fortunate to have it. Especially seeing that it has the wood applique.

      Phil,
Your project looks awsome. I can't believe the rate at which it is being completed.

Hats off to you my friend.
That's going to be one awsome ride.

      I am doing a 67RS right now.
      The build is very similar.
It is in the early stages but check it out if you get a chance.

      Take care,
      Brian

Phil, everything is looking very nice! I keep wanting to stop in and check it out, can't seem to find the time.
Your ride is going to be a stand out in the crowd kind of car. I can't wait to see it done!

Looks great, but if you change your mind I'm pretty sure repros came out last month.

      Summer Nationals

      Phil,

The Worcester Summer Nationals draws around 3,000 cars. If the weather is nice it is a great show. I will definitely stop by. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks if you are right off of 495. I am off exit 23.

WOW, first time I have poked my head in this area of PT.

As a Pontiac guy, I am glad to see real pontiac power. Real nice job.
Curious why it was necessary to disassemble the body as much as you did?

      John
