      Paint!!!

Final paint has been applied on the firewall, jambs, underside, rockers, and trunk. The shop needs to spray the dash and then she'll be headed home for assembly by weeks end.

Not the best pics as the flourescents in the spray booth were still warming up (it is only 12 degrees here!)...

And the funny thing is, I bought the car in pieces, so I have no clue!

I guess the Fisher Body Manual and the Service Manual will be coming in handy. Not to mention this forum.

Don't worry, I'm in the same boat with the 442. I took mine apart, but it was 13 years ago! My quote on my FQuick site is "now where does this go?"

Your car gives new meaning to the term "ground up". Some day I hope to own a car that clean. Keep the pix coming.

      Phil,

What size rubber and wheels you plan on running? I would have tought it would be mini tubbed on a project of that caliber?

Not exactly sure of rubber yet, but all 4 wheels will be 18s. I have the wheel-rite tool and plan on putting the largest rubber I can with the stance I want (lowered 3").

I actually considered mini tubbing and decided against it, mostly because I didn't want to cut up all the new metal.

This may sound like a dumb question, but do you think the caliber of the build is negatively impacted by the fact that it is not mini-tubbed? I did struggled with whether or not to tub, I hope I don't regret not doing it.

Why would you say that? If there is a purpose towards the style or need in your build, by all means do it. Efffect the caliber of build, that's just BS. Look at my car and tell me if I need to mini-tub. To each his own.

      WoooHooo!

Chill out RP! It wasn't meant as a negative comment! LOL!!!

Its just that all the top cars go thru this mod in these times, to fit tires that reflect the performance aspect of the build (not to mention to transfer the power to the ground!). With the engine thats going in this bad boy it just seemed that it would have been a natural...+, Money doesn't seem to be the object of the build here, so i' was just wondering why its not Mini'ed.

I'M glad your satisfied with your small ( ) tired car...As it does, in fact, look good.

I don't think it affects the car at all if you like it 69T/A. But doing this with the quality of craftsmanship you have in your hands...i don't see where the the trouble would have been! (Its not too late you know...hehe)

I like what your doing! Just take it as a simple question.

I'm cool. Understood. Owners should do what's right for them. They don't need to worry about what others think. That's what makes these projects fun.

      Rollin', rollin', rollin'...

Hey Wayne - Any news on your project?

Well, it's rolling so we can get it out of the shop by early next week. The rearend that is underneath it is temporary (the stock one) which will be replaced with 3" DSE drops springs and a Ford 9" as soon as I get it back. The wheels and tires are for transport purposes only.

      Happy for you

Must feel real nice to finally see a roller, Good things come to those who wait !! ( BOY DO I HOPE THATS TRUE ) I hope you have heat in that garage it must be cool up there. Did you guys get alot of snow we got 2-3 inch and it all washed away. We brought the car on Jan 18th we left in the pouring rain until we hit Conn. Then it was snow until N.C. 19 hour to make a 14 hour trip . I spent about 1 1/2 hours with Mike, he has it schuled for the end of March. I keep watching his site to see progress on any car. Thanks for asking. Wayne
