I'll add to the applauding for taking her down to a skeleton and putting all those new panels on it. Another one saved!! Woohoo!

For being so far down to bare shell, you're got some good progress there and it's gotta make you feel pretty good.

Keep the updates and pictures coming, we can only take so many Camaro updates here!!

The shell is completed and back at the bodyshop for seam sealing, primer, and final paint on the bottom, firewall and jambs. Tony did an AWESOME job on the shell. The body shop hopes to be done by January, but I am not holding my breath. The color will be Tungsten Grey Clearcoat Metallic w/ silver stripes as found on the new Ford GT. However, the stripe layout will be the original '69 Trans Am scheme. The bodyshop will install the subframe on the shell. Once I get it back to my garage (rolling), I will be working on getting the engine installed and get to work on the interior.

Tony had to re-use the old tail pan as they are not reproduced:

      Primer!...yeah baby!

I have been holding off with posting pics until some good progress was made...and I am glad to say the shell is in full primer...!

Up next is a bit more sanding, seam sealing, and final paint on the jambs, underside, and firewall.

      Looks awesome

I like the silver, I would have done silver if mine wasnt convertible. No matter how fast it goes it seems like nothing is getting done... As far as wheels go I like these it took me a while to decide between these and the Boyd's good luck with the project

LOL, he's a really good guy and is being very picky with my ride, but he's sick of hand sanding and seam sealing.

Btw, seeing how he has done the majority of the bodywork and seeing how the shell is all new (re Goodmark panels from China) he thought the car should have some Asian name. What is the chinese word for "bird?"

In pinyin: huo niao = fire bird = 火鸟
huo is pronounced with a long "o" and niao rhymes with meow.

BTW, the car is coming along well.

Well that just rolls right off the tongue.

Maybe I should go the Prince route.

It could be: formerly known as Firebird.

I don't think there's a single Chinese word that rolls off the American tongue. The difference in the "bird" symbols between our posts is that I used the Simplified (mainland China) character and you are using the Traditional (Taiwan, counter revolutionary) symbol.

The shop sprayed the rubberized coating on the wheel wells, rockers, and over the seam sealer on the underside of the body. PAINT TOMORROW!

...this shell should last a looong time.
