      Thanks!

Funny you mention it, I did see that breather. I am looking into that as an option.

so pretty it's almost a shame that it has to be covered by a body.

Test-fitting the Marquez taillights in the body:

...The trunk is already final painted and the overspray is what you see in the taillight body "rungs." Once the body is final painted, I think these will look killer.

Primed the 455 tonight. It was good to see some oil flowing through the rockers even if it was being manually pumped!

I need to tie-up a few loose ends, but should be able to fire the Poncho this week!

It's almost fitting that on the day that it is leaked Pontiac will be shut down...my Pontiac comes to life!

About 2 months shy of the 3-year anniversary of the build.....IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!

Tonight we ran the engine for the 1st time on my freind Kurt's home built test stand. We ran it for about 15 minutes and it ran right at 175 degrees with 50 psi of oil pressure at idle.

The crappy movie below is taken from my phone, IT SOUNDS MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!! The carb was custom built by a friend of mine that specializes in custom built holley's and the thing is nasty. It combines holley and demon-like qualities and has a hair trigger with absolutely no hesitation.

The video sound sucks...but check it out:

Congrats, Phil! I just finished reading your thread from beginning to end! I know my uncle has a FB that has been sitting in storage for years now. This makes me think I should give him a call...although I doubt he would part with it! And I don't know if I can wait three years! Again, a BEAUTIFUL car! I am on my way to your build page!

Man... that is one strong sounding poncho. I hope you bought stock in a tire store. The torq those pontiac engines make your going to go through rear tires pretty often. Nice job!

      Here's a better video:

      http://www.69taposer.citymax.com/enginerun.html

...It does not have a wild cam, but the entire package was designed to work together well and reach peak hp at 5500 rpm (longevity). I am leaving a little hp on the table (lift) with a relatively mild cam (hydraulic roller). The software dyno says 525 hp and 550 ft lbs of torque and we think that is probably pretty close. I will post the engine specs later today.

As you will see from the stand and the garage (a friend of mine), this is a "backyard build."
