      Anyone ever done

a pro-touring/roadracing/autocross vehicle from an 80's 4 door G-body? Specifically an 87 Cutlass 4 door. I am looking to go with something that is a bit different than the typical 2 door but only if it is a viable platform (can be made into one). Let me know all your thoughts, both positive and negative. TIA John

A "more door" Pro touring car would be pretty cool in my book.

The chassis are essentially the same, so anything a 2-door can do, a 4-door can do too. The G-body is a great platform to start with, IMO. I've had a few over the years!

In stock form the chassis can use some geometry help but nothing a few well chosen bolt ons can`t take care of. It sure would be cool to spank BMW Z-3s at an autocross with a quad door Olds! :D It`s not a 4rd. hatch back Cutlass is it? We`ve got a number of customers doing that with 2drs. no reason you couldn`t with a 4dr. It may actually have better weight distribution... Mark SC&C

I cant make up my mind. First I was going to stick with the 2 door g-body. Then I said ahh there is only a tiny crowd really doing 4 door's. I said I will stick with a 4 door g-body. Now I have found an 85 Delta 88 with 30,000 original miles which is a b-body. Crap, crap, crap. Do I stick with this b-body or go back to the g-body. To many decisions and I cant make up my mind.

They can be made to work at an Auto-x, but if I recall the chassis is pretty heavy. Could be a fun car for local events, but taking one to Nationals is probably more work than its worth
If you want to do it, here is your stuff
1971 Camaro, 383 stroker ~500HP,M21 Trans with lightened flywheel. All Sorts of Auto-x Goodness in the Suspension. 12" Brakes ->SOLD

But ask me about my 2004 STi Auto-x car...
