      Billet Hood Hinges

At SEMA I spotted these billet hood hinges on the 69 Camaro in the Goodyear booth.
Anyone know who makes them? They might be a low cost alternative to the Ring Brothers - DSE Billet hood hinge.

No. The steel ones are stamped. these are definitely not stamped arms. They are definitely milled peices as evidenced by the grooves where they mount to the fender.

they can be milled and steel too, I think they might be just because that spring is so big. (I work in a machine shop) ;)

I see, I thought you were saying they were stock chromed pieces. My bad. But here is the $500 question: does the material difference make a big difference in price?

Steel should be cheaper but is harder to machine so its a tradeoff. Also depends on how many parts the hinge is and the total times involved.

There was a red 69 Camaro Convertible at the Goodyear booth.
It also had a custom interior and dash.

I talked to the owner of the car, he was very proud that he made the hinges himself. Yes they are aluminum. He was talking about going home and taking them apart and put new bushings in them.
Nice guy, we talked for a while, but I don't remember his name.
I have pictures of the car...

I talked with him at the super chevy show in Joliet IL over the summer. Yes he is a very nice guy and super proud of his car. It is a very nice setup, I believe the interior is out of a newer chevy malibu? I remember he said he lives in western IL but I cant remember the city. The car cost a fortune. 150k ++++ but very nice. There are many little things you may never notice until they are pointed out.

The guy that owns the Camaro is Denny Miller and he is from Bentendorf, Iowa. He had those machined out of billet by a guy near Chicago and they were not cheap. The Ring brothers are manufacturing a set for Camaros and they run right around $625 for a pair. Which is very cheap when you think about the cost of materials and the engineering it took to make them. For more info visit www.Ringbrothers.com
