Scrap Metal Camaro - Progress Thread.

Rather than start a new thread every time I have an update, I'm just going to keep resurrecting this one. Well...if some of you don't know by now I purchased an LS1/4L60E combo for my car the other day, so I have the drivetrain answered. As far as the paint progress goes, he is getting ready to lay down color this weekend. He has been taking pics for me and they're going to be loaded on a disc when the car is done. I have been really bad about remembering to bring my camera when I go over there. I have but one picture to share with you. It's about a week old. I should probably tell you guys this before you see the car finished and wonder what the hell happened, but I've changed the color and theme YET AGAIN. I'm sick I tell you...just sick in the head. Actually this one is final as he is ordering the paint tomorrow. It will be 2006 Corvette "machine silver metallic" with a black SS stripe. I thought I was settled on the Viper Blue but in the end decided it just wasn't for me. I wanted something more traditional. Anyway...enjoy my one measly pic. I will try to get more up as his wife sends them to me.

Hey Tony, want to sell that shell when it's done? Bahahahaa... I'm jeleous! Looking good!! Can't wait to see it in color! I want mine done in silver also... with an LS1, we're going to have twins!

I'm having my doors and some other misc items sandblasted and epoxy coated tommorow. That's all the progress I have going right now.

Good choice on the color, I almost changed my color from Lexus Red to that Vette silver, but decided to leave it red. Great color though, can't wait to see your project with some color on it.

He's going to be painting this week. Won't be long now. I'm figuring the end of this month he should be done.

      One measely picture to share.....

I dropped by the paint shop yesterday and Matt was clearing the car. I couldn't go in but was able to watch from the windows outside. Damn...I almost broke down, my car finally has paint on it. This has been like a 20 year dream of mine. He put up one pic today on his website and I thought I'd share. FYI...the guy pictured on the page is not me, that's Matt.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?

Thanks guys, I should have some better shots by Friday. I'll admit that one there is a bit of a teaser (could his wife had stood a little further away?) LOL!!!

Yep...the stripes are next, and then a lot of color sanding. The car is being reassembled tonight and in the next couple of days he'll do the stripes. Getting towards the end here...I can't wait.

I gotta get this insurance stuff squared away ASAP.
