7/8" master questions

In my neverending quest to improve my braking system, I ran across this thread.

They recommend some smaller masters that were designed for disc/drum applications. The one chamber is much smaller than the other.

Are these going to work for a disc/disc application?

I'm not sure on that, but you can adapt the newer corvette ones to fit pretty easly- I did it on my '68 using a '92 vette master cylinder, and I just picked up a '99 one that appears the same for use on my '69. (15/16 bore if i remember right) -Dan

The 99 vette master is a 1" master and I really need something either 13/16 or 7/8" for a manual setup. I am already using a 2001 vette master and I am just not happy with the performance.

Ah, I haven't measured the '99; I thought the '92 was 15/16, but I'm not running manual-- sorry.

So will any of these work for a disc/disc setup? Is the rear resevoir big enough for C5 rear calipers?

Lots of things go into sizing a master. To find the best master for your needs go on to Tilton's website and they have a work sheet that will ask you weight of your car, tire diameter, number of pistons on your cailipers, power or manual set up, etc and they will size it for you.

I am running manual brakes but with a twin master set up. 7/8 for the front (C5 calipers) and 1 inch for the rear (wilwood 4 piston)

the stock LS1, one, works like a charm for me. i've got big single pistons in the front, and OEM LS1 discs in the back. I'm upgrading to C5Z06 brakes this week, i've got no doubt it'll work well, as C5 front pistons are smaller than LS1 front pistons by a small margin.

Aren't you using the LS1 master with a booster? I am looking for a manual setup.
