hydravac booster on old car?
i can get my hands on a hydraboost from a '06 Ford superduty powerstroke diesel.
i was told that this will only work on these engines,is this true if w'ere just talking a repair?
If mounted on my '62 merc and connected to the original pump or an aftermarket i figure it would pump hard enough to make this unit work.
or are these systems such hightech and do they need there own pump and oil?

Search "hydroboost", there's a lot of discussion in history. It works off your power steering pump, but I think your Merc p/s may run on a lower pressure than newer models which will affect the hydroboost assist.
