      Glove box

Did you get it removed? What type of vehicle is it on?

      Two questions:

      1. What kind of vehicle?
      2. Do you have the key for it?

A 69 Camaro (and I'm sure other GM vehicles) needs the key to remove the glove box lock. I'm not sure of the proceedure. Since I didn't have the key to mine, I put it in a drill press and drilled most of it out. I then used a propane torch to heat the pot metal retaining ring up. I heated it just enough to soften it, and pried it off.
One more thing, there is a plastic washer between the retaining ring and the panel.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

I ended up getting it finally. It was a GM lock on a Camaro. I finally found the little tab on the back that I pushed down and the lock tumbler came out. What a PITA!! Thank you for the replies though

Anybody care to post a pic of how to remove lock???

I cannot figure it out how to get the lock assembly out of the glove box door on my 71 Camaro. I do not have a key for it, so I am willing to buy a new lock setup anyway. Please help...thanks,
      Jeff
