I remember those days too!! But I usually have a lot less car left after I get the years of bondo and paint off!! Wish once I could blast a car and find metal where the rear quarters are suppossed to be. Always fun finding surprises, like the piece of fiber board and 4 gallons of bondo that was covering up what was once a sunroof..

      Looks great!!

I was lucky I only have to replace the roof, LFT quarter panel and the tail light section. I'll do all that after I get my mini-tubs and rear end in. I thought I was shocked to find damage that I didn't know about, but a sunroof cover up wow!

That rendering is killer. Good job so far.

Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

From the looks of it we have about the same amount of work. I'm going to replace both qtr's, tail light panel and the roof. I don't know if a trade would gain you anything. LOL... I'll keep the updates coming, I look forward to seeing your's also.

just want to say that you fellas have some killer camaros. I'm a mustang guy at heart but I love all classic metal. I do have one question, how do you guys get away without using a front bumper. I have a few friends that have done the shelby front bumper on thier stangs and it requires getting rid of the front bumper and they can't keep the cops off their tails.

Hey it'd save me a drivers floor, trunk floor, rear inner fender wells and part of a rocker panel! But my roof is in good shape. I still need both rear qtrs and tail light panel as well. I'm actually waiting to hear back from a guy that might sell his complete '67 shell since he hasn't done anything with it in 10 years. If that doesn't happen then I'll be getting it sandblasted within the next couple weeks. Just got my doors, cowl panel, core support and multiple smaller items back from the blaster this past weekend (he epoxy coats em too!).

Nice subframe with coil overs BTW! I just stuck with stock CA's and drop springs

What are you having it blasted with? Mine was done with walnut shells. Be careful with glass bead and others they tend to heat up the metal and create more work. It is great that he coats the parts when finished. I found a shop around the corner from me that did my whole car for $850 with walnut shells. It came out great, but there was some rust that has caused me to replace the roof and both qtr’s were damaged and need to be replaced. I got the tail section, roof and hood last week. I’m waiting on the qtr’s as it appears there is a shortage because of all of the body build up’s going on. My vendor told me minimum 4 weeks and Classic Industries quoted me 3-4 months.

The Subframe is a Wayne Due C4 setup and I’ll be installing a C4 Rear end in it as well. It will be a few more weeks before I can work on it again. So when I get a chance to work on it I’ll post some progress pics

I've never driven it yet! I'll let you know when I'm done with it. I hope I'm not getting a ticket everytime I turn around!

Wow, a shortage in qtrs!!! Yikes!
Actually it will be blasted with sand... I know I know... but this guy has done it for 30 years and knows the right distance and angle to hold the nozzle on the smooth surfaces. He just did my cowl panel and both doors and they came out just fine. I questioned him about it all before I took anything. Anyway, the only thing that could be ruined on the shell would be the roof. And he can blast my shell for - get this - $200-$250! Probably another $75-$100 for him to spray it afterwards. He did several misc items (hood latch, trunk latch, hood hinges, headlight brackets, fender braces, gas tank brackets, blower air duct and a few other items) along with 2 door shells, cowl panel and core support for $100. That included the epoxy. Now I will say the epoxy wasn't sprayed on the best and missed a few spots, in which I just finished touching them up here at home with a can of etching primer.

I'd love to do a IRS rear, but I have nowhere near the $$ or fab skills to do it. There's a guy over by cleveland that randomly gets full C5 suspension/motor/drivetrain and he puts em up on ebay. A C5 Z06 motor, wheels, drivetrain, suspension just sold for a little over 10k recently. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-Co...35160260QQrdZ1
I'd love to have been able to go this route, probably is well worth it dollar wise.

I’ll take that as a great complement after drooling over your car. The hard part now is getting my car to look like the rendering. I'll post more pic's when he completes my project.

The C5 is a lot of work! The C4 is not as difficult. I was working with Wayne to build a bolt in Kit and got the OK to fab his brackets. Unfortunately Wayne closed the doors. I’m building his IRS kits now, but will be making a newer version that can be bolted in or welded. Wayne sent a few customers my way so I had to duplicate his kit. I have a full time job that does not allow me to develop near as quickly as I would like. I was always planning to run my exhaust out the side in front of the rear tires so my plan would work fine for me, but I found I’ll have to change it if people want to run their exhaust out the rear.

When I get a kit going I’ll post pictures.

      Count me in!

Hey I've been looking for the rear IRS kit that Wayne made.

      Are you selling them now?

I would love to get one.
