Fuel pressure regulator plumbing

kind of wondering... is the front side of the block much cooler than the backside because of more space, fan, & air movement? i wonder if the return line should come down the front of the block, and over to the frame rail ahead of the headers? would that keep the return fuel cooler than rear of the block across the top of the headers? perhaps supply & return should both be on front of block & exit stage left way before headers.

Realize that this is a major revival, but wanted to add that the Megasquirt guys have used 30' of hose to their onboard map sensor, and had no issues. So the vacuum line to the regulator should be okay.

Also, based on the mention of these huge pumps often contributing the heat, I wanted to say that boosted apps can run two smaller pumps and switch one on with a hobbs switch. The guys at LS1tech seem to have good results with that, and it would avoid the heat these larger pumps produce.

There is a newer thread a ways down under Returnless Fuel Line systems that has added even more updated info.

It is the best way to go from what everyone has experienced IMHO.
