Another new shop

My shop is starting to take shape. 28' x 36' (should have gone 30' wide) Upstairs will have a 16' x 36' room. It will have two 10'6" x 11' high doors on the gable end. I am anxious to get it done!

Thanks, I'll post pictures as we move along. Trusses are scheduled for thursday, roofer said he will be able to get right on it once the roof is sheathed.

Andrew I wish I had the space to put a shop up as big as yours! That is going to be sweet when you get it done.

I talked to the floor guy, he told me about one he just finished in red, then he had it polished to a high gloss. He said it looks absolutely unbelievable but that it is slippery as hell when it gets wet. Old lady killer as he put it. lol

A few more pictures, my son is as excited as I am! This morning as he was getting ready to get on the schoolbus I said: "Hey Max, how would you like it if I bring you in late and you can stay here and watch the trusses go up?" You can just imagine his answer. lol

I have a little rough plumbing before I pour the slab, should be able to get it done so the floor can happen next week. Floor guy is still trying to get me to dye the crete at the batch plant. I'm pretty sure I won't do it because of the slipperiness (is that a word?) factor.

I'm no concrete guy, but we did have a lot of concrete work done around the house in the last year. The "slipperiness" of the concrete depends on the finish, not the presence or absence of dye in the mix. We have broom finished dyed concrete and stamped, dyed concrete and it's all perfectly safe and non-slippery to walk on, even when wet. Now the epoxy paint or other finishes applied after the concrete has cured may well be another matter.

My fault, I didn't explain the whole deal. He wants to do it the way he just finished a red one. After he poured and finished, he had it polished by another company which, he says, makes it very slippery. I don't want to go that route as I will be in there often and the last thing I need is to fall on my a$$. I think I'll have him finish it like he normally does for me, then I will acid etch and apply an epoxy finish with a light sand texture. I wonder if there is such a thing as clear epoxy for concrete floors. If so I could have him add the red and apply the epoxy finish with sand texture. Time to GOOGLE.....
