Thoughts on new Year One hood

I am considering buying the new 4th gen SS style hood for my 68 Camaro. Besides their convert, I have only seen one other with one. I like that it is different than all the cowl hoods everybody is running (kinda like torque thrust 2 wheels). I just trying to make up my mind if it is worth the $600+ by the time its shipped. Do you like it or not?

      re:

Yearone hood. They released that hood about a month after I bought my cowl
I think your car would look awesome with that style and it is something different, but not too different. I don't believe I have ever seen a 67 or 68 with a yearone hood??

I looked at the SS hood on my '01 and noticed it is not near as bulky looking. The Year One hood looks like they took a fiberglass cowl hood and changed the front of it the more I look at it.

Saw it in person on the year one car this year. I like that hood a lot! If you have $600+ then go for it.

I would love to put this hood on my 67 as well. I like it!

I believe the hood is actually manufactured by American Sports Car Design... http://www.americansportscardesigns....n_camaro.shtml

I like the hood also, there is one thing that I wished it had though...I wish it had the overhang on the cowl side like a normal cowl hood.
Although, with it being the way it is you might be able to mount some 2 1/16" gauges in the cowl side of the hood..just a thought.

      SS Hood

I am using the SS hood on my 69, it looks great but it took alot of work to make it right, the quality is not that great. Check out pictures at.
