      Which body mounts?

I was wondering which body mounts to use with my 2nd gen F-body.
Got my TKO 600 installed, everything works great, but now I am noticing that I can feel major frame flex through the clutch pedal with my foot. It actually moves the pedal 1/2-1" upward as I travel over speed bumps, etc. I have manual linkage, bolted to a bracket on the subframe.

When I had my wife push the pedal while I watched under the hood, I was shocked at how much the linkage pulls the subframe forward and to the right. It's like the linkage is trying to separate the subframe from the body.

Someone in the manual trans section was astute enough to point out that this is probably due to old crappy body bushing mounts, which makes sense.
So, if I go with polyurethane body bushings, will it fix this problem? I have a stiff suspension and I want it to handle to the max. So I am thinking the poly or even aluminum bushings. The stock rubber mounts are garbage and need to be replaced anyhow.

      Your thoughts would be appreciated.

go with global west's solid bushings, ive heard they are pretty good. you can also get the subframe connector to match if you dont have one already.

I ordered up the GW solid bushings a coupla nights ago, I decided to go with stock ride height to be on the safe side, my tranny is pretty close to the floorpan and other issues.
      Thanks for the advice.

Aluminum is best, you don't want any fex between the subframe and unibody if you are at all concerned about handling.
The rubber bushings were "tuned" for the tires of the day, polly bushings aren't tuned for anything so you might as well go for the most solid connection.

good call on the solids...I didn't really notice how floppy my sub was until I put solids in just the back mounting points (due to time constraints--I HAD to have the car running). Now those poor guys are creakin all over the place because the front ones are still floppin around.

      Must. Install. Subframe. Connectors!
