      Going to San Diego

I gotta go with the wife to see mom in-law this week before I deploy. I am going to the Pads game Wed. night. I used to live there but didn't do anything but surf and drink. So, where are the car events, i.e. cruises, I would like to go see what lateral dynamics is up to. Any other vendors or shops from around there on here? I gotta get a rental car and get away from the "old one" and away from that damn island. I wish I was there for Coronado Speed Festival though, it's always fun.

There is an autocross at the Murph, on the 9th @ 8am or so. They might even have the little 1/8th mile drags at the Murph on Friday and/or Saturday night.

You best call Marky up early to catch him for a tour of Lateral Dynamics.... he's one busy cat. Not to mention that you have to plan around traffic on the 5.

      CSF isnt until October.......

Escondil-do is about the only place I know of any more that is doing weekend drive-ins. The McDonalds on Main just east of the hospital.

The American Classic Car Show is on the 9th up in Valley Center. I think its at Bates Brother nut farm....

And the Long Beach swap-o is on the 10th.

ProGear in Kerny Mesa is a good place to go learn a thing or two. There is also Chevy Classic 5 speeds up in Encinitas... on the way to Lateral Dynamics. Hot Rods and Custom Stuff is also in Escondido.

I have heard about the Qualcomm/Jack Murphy drags to keep the racing off the streets, I'll hit that and the Valley Center show up. The convertible Sebring rental has the check engine light on so I won't run her, LOL. I went to the Padres game last night, stayed till the scoreless 11th inning. Got bored and just walked out of the stadium when a Padres September call-up went for a 2 run yard. Ahhhh! The wife is a Friar's fan being from Coronado, I'm a Braves fan but am a fan of the Pads by marriage.
