It looks a little different now (new wheels & tires, some engine bay improvements, I will post at a future date).

#1 - I've been thinking about a cowl induction hood on mine. You just sold me on it.

#2 - Do you have any cooling issues with the license plate being in front of the grill?

You shouldn't... those grill were really a joke when it comes to airflow (I know, I had a '79). They were bottom breathers if I recall, the grill were more for looks.

That's correct...it doesn't care about the grill being blocked, all the air comes from underneath anyway. One of the great design functions of the TA. Also the fender vents help with cooling.

One simple reason I went with a TA...I like the front end of the 79-81 TA better than all other 2nd gen f-bodies. Just personal preference, but I know I'm not alone.

And I have a big block chevy motor because it's tough and hard to break, easy to mod, also I don't see a problem with running a chevy engine since they put Chevy's in the TA's anyway, like the 305 POS. And I am not a Pontiac purist, I have no problem changing out any GM part that I think is inferior.

I run a 4" cowl hood for practical purposes. I originally used the stock hood with the Holley and air cleaner sticking out through the shaker hole in the hood, it looked badass, but as you might expect I had problems when it rained--fried my distributor cap. So I decided to cover the works up with a cowl.

i dont know who educated you on the inferiuer level but i never heard of a 454 chevelle beating a GTO 400 judge!!!!on the streets..... make no mistake the injun mill is the best """street"" engine . myself beeing from europe as wel i thingk in time il drive up to meet you so we can have some funn in the italien streets

Seriously though, I am not getting into any shouting matches over which is the "best" street engine. I love the Pontiacs and there are some vicious beasts under the hoods of many arrowheads. My cousin has a 500hp 455 in his '69 GTO, and it's fast as heck, and looks awesome. I wasn't really saying the Pontiac engines are inferior either...more like most things from the factory could use improvement, that's all. That's why we're here, right?

On the other hand, the BB Chevy engine has always been one of the most stout factory built engines, whereas the others (BOP&Caddy), can be built but tend to need more beefing up (read:$$$) in order to do so, with not as many great aftermarket parts available as the Chevys. But I am stating the obvious.

Having lived in France, I can only imagine the responses you must get rolling through the streets of naples in that thing...must be a wild ride anywhere you go.

P.s. Welcome to the "pontiac purists hate us" club. My car rolled of the factory floor with a 350 under the hood, and I still catch crap about it.
