Offset Rack Bushings Help Bump Steer?

Anybody have any thoughts on using offset bushings to raise a rack approx 1/4" to help with minor bumpsteer problem?

I ck'd Mustang sites and most claim no difference?

Why would lowering the tie rod help and raising the rack not??

By the way the problem I have is the tie rod is about 1/4" to high.

Bump steer is caused when the steering pivot point (where it meets the tie rod) moves in a slightly different arc than the spindle pivot points, resulting in the steering arm moving in or out relative to the spindle during suspension travel.

You may know all that, but the point is that raising/lowering the rack or lowering the steering pivot point are both attempts to alter the arc in a way to reduce its relative movement during suspension travel. The significance of the change and the pivot points of the rest of your suspension will determine if it helps.

From a practical standpoint, I don't think .25" is gonna make much difference on the rack location, though it will have some effect.
