      Wheel/tire combo for 70 Chevelle

Anybody know off hand, the biggest wheel/tire combo that will fit, requiring no modifications. A friend asked me, and I told him I'd check on it for him. Any input would be appreciated!

Hey, I have 17x8's on frt. with 4.25 backspacing, I am sure you can run 9's. Not sure on the back spacing though. On the back you can run 11's but you have to be very sure of your measuement. But safely you can run a 10 with 5.75 or 6.00 backspacing.
Tires on frt of mine are 255\40 17 nad backs are 285\35 18. I wish I would have went with a 295 or a 305 on back!!!

Personally I think 18's all around is the nicest: 18x9.5 with 5.5 BS up front with a 275 tire and 18x11 with 5.75 in the rear with 315. You can get 20's out back with a 20x10 too! Good luck
