      How many other shows have a finalist pick? If he doesn't win it it will be as big a FU as when the 67 Blazer PU of mine that was started by Lil John and worked on by Boyd and finished by Alan Johnson lost to a $25K 71 Silver Chevy pick up in Dallas a few years ago. I wonder if the Goodguys people know that the truck hasn't qualified? I know Legens and the owner have put their heart and soul into that truck..I really feel for them..and unfortunately I know the feeling very well..

      There are only 2 other shows they could qualify at. Pleasanton West Coast Nats and Texas. Chances are Bob they won't get qualifed and I don't think Goodguys really cares. You know as well as I do that this thing is 100% polotics. That what has become the foundation for this hobby/sport/biz. Not the first time someone has been screwed and it surely won't be the last.

      I don't know too much about the regional picks, but their Louisville picks are pretty good. Only problem I had with it is the judges are told to pick cars they like the most, not the best cars. So say if some of the judges just didn't like the build style of the Willys, it could be beat by cars of much less quality..

      He absolutely needs to go to Texas. I'd have to see it to believe it if that truck doesn't win...The 57 Red Ford probably has the late sewed up..I truly believe there's less politics in the Goodguys picks than there is in any other type car competition.

      I'm curious . . .... Are you saying that 71 pick-up was not @ the same level of craftsmanship as your blazer/truck?

      not even the same stratosphere..The Blazer truck had a one off Lil John Buttera built Chassis and suspension. Tons of metal mods and one off custom pieces..couldn't build that truck for $300K. The 55 Ford Truck with the Lexus Motor was a super nice truck. He came up to me afterward and said, You were robbed. I answered..How about you..I could have seen how someone could have picked the Ford, but the 71 Chevy with the Cloudy Silver paint, and the Seats poking up in the back window just wasn't a high quality piece at all. I see you're from Texas.You must know the guy or truck..he's from around there

      I have a 66 Ford Pick-up for sale now..with a Super Cobra Jet 429 Super detailed truck that is of higher quality than that 71 and I'll take $23,500 for it. it runs and drives as good as it looks..very fresh too..underside is slick as the top side..

      Yep, I know of the truck. I actually saw it years ago in the guys shop when he first started on it but I do not know the owner personally. My friends shop was just located in the same warehouse structure.

      I'll just say I liked them both. But.... one was more appealing for the average joe, the other for the high-end crowd.
