Oh yeah!! That was one of my favorites. It's been gone for twentyfive years, but I still miss my '75 Camaro.

      Imsa

We had a neighbor that had his Olds Starfire (re: Vega) done up like that. His glasswork wasn't pretty, but the chassis was incredible. Not many guys in Detroit (my hometown) 'got' that look- we were all stuck on muscle cars.

      Oh wait- we still are!

I just wish the real IMSA would come back...and the real CART, and a Trans-Am series that was a bit closer to the real thing.

Oh wait- that's called SCCA these days!

I guess I have to get in on the old man stuff. How many of you have ever sat in the infield(road course) section of Daytona for the 24 hour race and listened to the sweet sound of GTP cars (1985-1991) shifting those staight cut gears? I promise there is not a sound like it.A.J.Folt was a master at it and would make the same shifts at the same point lap after lap after lap...... I guess you had to be there!
These were not street cars but would still look modern today-12 years later. I believe the front runner was a Porche 962. Anyway all that talk about IMSA reminded me about this.

      Bill-

Might you be refering to the Miller Beer 962 of Derek Bell? I love the old GTP cars- the Porsches, Nissans, Kudzu Mazdas, etc.

      Gtp

Derek's 962 was certainly one of the ones I was talking about.Mario Andretti and son drove one acouple year also. Remember the89 & 90 toyotas? They had their own sound and man were they fast. After two laps they were already lapping the slower cars.
