burnout photos
Took the car to the local 1/8 mile track last night. 500 rwhp and radials don't really mix well, but I managed a spinning 7.70 @ 96 with a weak 1.93 60' time. For you quarter-milers, thats approximately a mid 11 time.
Going to test-fit my Weld pro-stars and drag slicks tomorrow, and haul the car to the Thunder Racing Southern Shootout Nov 6-7 (Belle Rose, Louisiana). If I'm lucky, maybe I'll see some 10s on the first visit to the quarter on real tires.

Your car is so awesome. I think you may be getting those 60' times because in the picture the lights green but you aren't going anywhere
Nice pics, I have traction problems also with 315 nitto drag radials on my firebird.

That will just hurt reaction times, 60 foot timer doesn't start till the car rolls out, he's still on the brakes it looks like in the pic.
Car looks awesome! Did the tranny stay in gear this trip out?

Actually, I'm not on the brakes. I just have LED tail lights and they are BRIGHT. If the brakes were on, you would be blinded by the red haha.
Different tranny in the car, I need to put some more miles (and passes) on it to loosen it up. Kinda tight/notchy.

Can you get a pic of the taillights with brakes on and off and email them to me at [email protected] ? I'd like to see what they look like and what the difference is. Is that the technostalgia kit? Did you buy two to get the whole light to light up if so?

Yeah, I can see your tach must have been up there, but the Speedo wasn't! And as Joel mentioned, I bet you'll still have trouble even with the Drag Radials... but it will be much better!

96mph
The 7.70 is no mid 11, but the 96MPH is well in the bottom 11s. Assuming it would of hooked, you would probably see a couple more MPH. Fr reference, we have a few cars that run 10.60s to 11.40s, and those cars run 95 to 101MPH in the 1/8th.
So your high 10 may be possible. Also, don't be affraid to correct for altitude, everyone else does.

Just got home from my 2nd visit to the track. Ran 11.60 @ 123 mph with a spinning 1.90 60' time. Tried to mount my Pro Stars and slicks but the dang shocks are in the way. Time to relocate those inboard!
New best MPH was 97 at the 1/8, 123.5 in the 1/4. Damn I wish I could floor the car in 1st and 2nd just once :D
raceweight was 3535 lbs.

There ya go, Assuming it hooks and goes 1.60 like it should, maybe even 1.55s, you will pick up .40 on the other end, 11.20, and the 123 is confirming it. You might have to abuse it to see your 10.99, or get a real cold, dry night.
Do you know what the DA (Density Altitude) was?

DA was in the +1000 range. We get a few -2000 DA days down here in Houston per year (Dec-Jan). I should be able to nail a low 1.5 60' on real slicks. If I can hit 126 mph I'll get that 10 second pass. Shouldn't be too hard after I drop all the weight by going with drag wheels/tires. These 17s are heavy!
Once I get my 10.99 timeslip or better, the nitrous goes in :D
