      Dynamat rear quarters?

I'm planning on having a sub in the trunk, and also boxing in the trunk. I was going to Dynamat the trunk and rear wheelwell/quarter areas, but started thinking - do I need to do that if the sub is going to be firing into the boxed-in area?

in a word, yes. I'm just running 2 mbquart 6x9's for low end right now, with dynamat just around the mounting surfaces, and oy the rattles! I would, at the very least, cover any surfaces directly in contact with the box or not baffled by other stuff (i.e. seats) and if I had the change and wasn't worried about weight, I'd mat the whole trunk and probably the majority of the under-interior metal too. In fact, when I say I would, I mean I plan to, when I finish out my stereo.

What is the weight contribution from a full load of dynamat?

Heh, with a big block, A/C, speaker box, two amps, and plenty of Dynamat, (and maybe a wife and two kids along for the ride) I guess I won't be the sveltest (is that a word?) car on the block... But I'll be comfortable out there while laying the rubber to the road...

Point taken. Yours is clearly a different vision from mine. I'm looking to build mine to be as svelte as possible w/o going all the way to a full on race machine.
