      Quadralink shock height

I have the quadralink installed in my car and I have a concern. With the lower 4 link bar at ride height with is level per DSE instructions I only have about 1 inch of travel before the shock starts hitting the bumper. Measuring the shock between mounting bolts I have 12.5" overall.

DSE claims that this is correct and that 1" is enough. Maybe it is, but I would think that going down the road if I hit a bump a few inches high it is going to bottom out fairly easily or else the compression and spring rate is such that they wont yielding a hard ride.

I always thought that ride height on a shock should position it in the center of travel.

Why now use a shorter shock?

Can someone enlighten me on this?

      THanks

That doesn't sound right. If the shock has 5 inches of travel then at ride hight you should be somewhere in the middle, 2.5 up and 2.5 down.
I would set the car at ride hight and adjust the shock mounts to acomplish this.

I am not familier with the DSE quadralink, but wheel travel does not always = shock travel.

I have an unlimited budget. That bad part is I have already used it up.

That's one of the down falls of the Quadralink. No adjustability for different shock length or ride heights other than what it's designed for. You could always trim the bumper on the shock to get a little extra bump travel.
