I have a car at last!!!!

As of 7:30 tonite I finally bit the bullet and bought us a project car of my very own. After years of working on other people's cars, I can finally do what I want to one. I found this car on craigslist for 350 bucks. you read that right. three hundered and fifty bucks. (thanks joel) Its been garaged for 12 years and is in mighty good shape. all it needs is a leaky carb fixed and a battery and she'll be road worthy again. The only body damage is a rusty quarter section about 8 inches long. Stay tuned for rapid progress... Hot august nights rapidly approaches.

If it were not for the kids, I would. There's a HOT system out there right now. allows you to drop a big block and a powerglide right in the guy who set this kit up is planning 1000 hp!

Im going for a driver, so it'll get brakes, full suspension upgrade, and a built 'vair engine, and a set of 18" Coys most likely. Should still be a fun track car.

Awesome Tony, I love the body lines on a Corvair. I've always had this dream of doing an all-wheel-drive version with a turbo charged V6. You'd have to cut the floor and adapt a Syclone or Typhoon front suspension. I know...a butt load of work. But I guess that's why they call them dreams. LOL!!!!

Sweet. Can't wait to see it with 18's.

      Wow... What a GREAT buy...

If I ran into deals like that often, I'd have to start parking cars in the den/dining room/bedroom/etc...

if most of us ran into deals like that often, we'd probably end up in divorce court... ;-)

provair1 sits in the shop next to "the distraction" danny's pro-mod/super gas 63 nova. as it has for the last 3 years.

So, i've decided to start with my own car.

Nope provair belongs to my brother. It was a collaborative vision though, I helped design the look of the car and it became my pet project, but his money. So, I jumped at the chance to do one myself, on my time table. The whole "my money" part is gonna suck though.

Nope. And it broke the guy's heart selling it to me, I could tell. He didn't stick around to see it off. We started loading it on the trailer and he just went inside. I felt bad for him.

And putting an LS2 in it? Phil's doing it, it's been done, where's the fun in that? now an LS7... that's the ticket. The kids could get used to riding on the valve covers, right?

Awsome! If I had the cash I'd have a corvair project to set next to the '68. I like the lines of the corvairs also!
