Great work Tom...obviously your cars are as wild as your engines. That thing is going to be a friggin rocket...1.3 lbs per hp on race gas..holy crap. If I had the dime you would be building me a Ford 427 tt for a certain little green coupe. It's like my grandma always said "there is no such thing as too much horsepower...too much is just enough."

Those rear tires look a little skinny for >1100hp dont you think? Or do you have some kind of secret?

What kind of transaxle are you going to be using? I have always wanted to build a car like that, and the transaxle always seems to be a sticking point. Looking good.

      Great Car!

But I can tell you right away that it is not going to be fun to drive it with 1650hp. But I guess you know about that aswell?
I have built an Ultima GTR with 962 hp lexus engine. I just completed it a month ago. First it looked like it was undrivable with more than 700hp, but after a while about 800 is "fine". But at 960hp it is only good for dragracing or maybe some top speed competition, but i doubt that.

I dont want to take anything from you. It looks like a nice build. But 1650hp is insane!

      Best regards

      Transaxle

The transaxle is based on a zf box .The cost on this exact 427 is 46.000 it's pretty much has all the bells and whistles.
Base cost is 35.000 turn key.The car definately is crazy. But who ever said crazy wasn't fun.The last set up we did when the car hooked would get your head wozzy.Thats something every Gearhead should experience.Really though I've made the owner sign a waiver for liability. He going to take this car to bonneville and try to go over 280 mph with it.That's actually what i call crazy.

I just did the Hot Rod Power tour with Jeff Schwartz in his GTR with the old engine in it. Chicago>Florida 24 hours straight, stopping only for fuel. Total of abour 4200miles in 9 days.

The old engine is 500hp and the car is nuts. The Magnacharged LS2 on his site is mine - hoping to bring it over for Power Tour next year.

Tom, did you guys do the transaxle work, or was that another shop?

      Thanks,
      Craig.

Considering the capabilities of the chassis. If you can find away to get most of that power down (something like an Innovative MSBC-1) and the driveline will live that could very well be one of the most potent vehicles on public roads.

You don't get to say that very often...

I'd love to hear more about this as it nears completion.

You can never have to much?
I don't mind spinning the tires at 60, but 200? Hopefully you have real good control over power. Boost traction control?

I was very much looking at an Ultima GTR before my Camaro build. The Ford 302 Twin Turbo would have fit nicely. But I love the
      Controversy.

There were a couple of LSx based GTR's on this year's One Lap event and I couldn't help but wonder about having more HP... Hopefully someone can take down that Porshe that's a 3-peat winner and this GTR sounds like it could do it...

Build the engine with way to much, then let the right foot decide how much goes to the ground... that's the way I'd like it too.
