Please recommend a ball joint seperator

I want to seperate the ball joints from the spindle and I have a pickle fork, but prefer not to damage the grease boot. Is there a good tool that will push against the ball join stud?

      Thanks

Hey Joe, I have never used a ball joint separator.
All I do is loosen the upper and lower (if applicable) nuts, run them off to clean the threads and run them back on till three or four threads are left between the bottom of the nut and the top of the spindle. Smacking the top side with a BFH will usually knock them loose easily. Spring pressure will pop the joints and this leaves the boots intact. That's how I do it and I have never had a problem. Sometimes you have to smack em pretty good. Put a floor jack under the lower and lift it a bit to support the corner just incase the joint pops with no persuasion...

Hey, yeah, sounds like a good plan.

      Thanks, much!
