      Stance

Lowered the front as far as it will go. I have some 1" lowering blocks for the rear - think I should use them?

give em a shot and see if you like it.

I personally like it when there is maybe 1/2" gap to 1/2" no gap between the tire and the wheelwell in the rear, but maybe it'll ride terrible or scrape something?

no point in doin it if you cant pull in a driveway or drive over a speedbump.

lookin good with the glass in there!

keep it up, you're getting me motivated to go work on mine!

I don't know...in the first and third pictures it looks like it needs to go down some, but then it looks perfect in the 2nd picture. Hmmm.....what size wheels are those?

Rock, you could go lower and it would look great, assuming its driveable.

I had the nose of my car real low, it looked great. Then I decided to follow the common theory of having the lower control arm pivot about a half inch higher than the balljoint center and now my car looks too high.

I may ignore the math for now and just drop it to where it looks cool again.

Yeah, I see what you mean... They are 245/35 on 17x8 and 315/35 on 17x11.

1" block should do the trick, Tom. I just looked at some other shots on your site. By the way, where'd you get that sweet fuel cap?

Stance looks good but the rear tire looks stretched on the rim. In my opinion it would look better with a little more sidewall bulge and height to the rear tire. The 67-68'2 are hard to get right do to the shape of the inner wheelwell which does not allow the car to sit that low as a 69 does. Like the rims.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

I would love to find a 315/45 tire but I just don't think anyone makes them

It's a Goodridge motorcycle cap. I got the idea from Mecom Racer. It took a custom tailpanel, plus we moved it up since the lock was shaved. I'm happy with the way that turned out - was trying to get in a few subtle changes to make it unique.

very nice! I agree...2nd pic looks perfect but other 2 pics make it look like it needs to come down just a tad. I want to lower my rear about an inch or 2 also but I already rub sometimes... if you rub now..dont even bother...it looks damn good the way it is!!

Great looking car, I think the rear could come down a little more if it does not render it undriveable. IF its to close leave it alone. And again nice lookin car. If you dont mind me asking what springs are you using in that front and rear?

Running the Chassisworks front suspension with their Varishock units - 600lb springs. Rears are DSE 3" drop leafs.

Dang, I tried to put in the 1" lowering blocks and the U-bolts were too short!

That's an easy fix. I had some really nice galvanized ones that I got with my Southside Machine Lift Bars, they had a ton of thread on them. I accidentally included them with my Hotchkis 2" drop leafs that I sold to a guy on the west side of the state. I'm still kickin' myself over that.

Not much clearance between the lip and the tire - maybe 1/4 to 1/2" at the top. I think the rear end was 52.25" from backing plate to backing plate, but I'd have to measure it when I'm under there again because it was just too long ago to remember...

      new stance

Ok, well after 3 hours in the O.R. I have the lowering blocks installed. Isn't it harder to work at night when you're trying to be quiet and not wake the neighborhood? The U-bolts that Summit had which were the correct length were 9/16" instead of 1/2", so they didn't want to slip into place as easily... I sure like the beefy qualities of the new U-bolts though.

Here's a quick pic, although I think there will be some more settling/adjustment happening. I can't go any lower now without ditching the Caltracs, since they are now even with the bottom of the rim...

I like it though, and now I hope it drives ok without issues.
