      Et Wheels & Gto Backspacing

      Hi,

I am new to this form. Two questions.

      1. I am considering buying ET CLASSIC 5 wheels for my 67 & 69
GTO to interchange. Is anyone using these on their rides?
Does anyone have pics of these wheels?

      2. What type of backspace can I use for a 67 & 69 GTO or
      A-body car? Was thinking of 16 X 8" with a 5" or 4 3/4"
      backspace. Will that work. Would use 14 X 7" or 15 X 7"
with 4 1/2" backspace on front.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks,

      sd389421

      Here's a good place to start: http://www.oldsmobility.com/fitting-wheels.htm.

8" wheels need around 4.5" backspacing on early a-bodies, depending on which rear end your car has. A little more in the rear should be fine for the '67. The '69 will take more backspacing front and rear, as much as 5.5" with a 17" wheel, but that won't fit the front of a stock '67.

There are going to be differences between '67 and '69, but I'm sure you can get a set that fits well on both.
