      Rubber and VHT

Getting ready to take the car to the track (1/4 mile)for the first time.
Is there anything that can be sprayed/applied to the rear quarters to make removal of rubber and VHT easier..

      I should have known........
The answer was going to be WD40 or duct tape

So I can spray a light film of WD40 on the quarters and it will not hurt the paint?

This stuff seems pretty cool.. should help protect from rock chips as well.

I have been told that wd is not friendly to the paint long term, wax or pledge is better. Duplicolor makes a spray on bra that washes off with water, I have not tried it but it looks cool.

My dad and I used to use petroleum jelly when we were racing. Don't laugh it worked. It washed off with soap and water.

Scott, get ahold of some clear vinyl and stick it on, it'll protect against stone chips too.

I am a little nervous about trying Pam cooking spray, vaseline or WD 40 on my paint..
I went to a friends vinyl shop today and he said that I would probably spend as much time cleaning adhesive off the car as I would cleaning rubber and VHT

I am really intrigued by Steve's Suggestion
The Duplicolor spray on Bra.. (See previous post)
This could be the ticket for track events or long trips.
Not only keeps the rubber off the car but also helps resist paint chips. Just pressure wash it off when you are done.
      Comes in clear or black.
However no one in Fort Wayne has this product in stock and I need it by Thursday afternoon...I am trying to get one of the local companies to have the product sent overnight but they are all clueless .
I am waiting on a return call from one of Duplicolors "Regional Managers".
      Any other ideas?

      It also washes off...

      Try 3m

3m makes the window film that nascar teams use for thier windshields as tare offs. Works better than mud off for our sprint car and protects the paint from chips. You just need to find a 3m dealer in your area.
