Pointless Update; Installment #1
My gas tank odyssey has ended. Yippee!
And my son Jared joined in the fun. Next I have to paint my leaf springs which looked like they were dragged on the ground behind the UPS truck, finish the billet aluminum blocks, and then bolt in the rear suspension. Then I can get the car on the ground and start the finalization of the front end. 5 more weeks till paint jail.
Also, first application of Duplicolor Bedliner applied to rear underbody. Messy stuff. Gun destroyed. Will have to apply the front with a roller.

Looks good Tony, and the boys getting big, just keep plugging away, I hope to have my rearend in tomorrow for mock up purposes and then off to the powder coaters, alittle at a time, thats all I can do and afford!!

Not trying to tell you what to do or anything, but those concrete blocks are really weak laying on their side like that. It doesn't take much a blow with a hammer to break them into pieces. If one broke your car would be in the floor on top of you. I would stand them upright and put a peice of 2x8 or 2x10 on top to set your jackstands on.

Yeah, I agree. But putting them up right wouldn't get the car high enough and if I tried to put the jackstands on top of them with them standing up....yikes, don't wanna do that. If you look in the middle, I have a car jack on top of several blocks with a piece of wood underneath to spread the weight out evenly and then 2 peices of wood on the underbody. I jacked it up till there was just enough pressure on the underbody. This was done as a backup incase one of the blocks decided to break. Not swinging any hammers so I think it should be pretty safe. I saw a picture of Mark Stielow doing this very thing once on The Mule when he was building it and I figure if it's safe enough for him, maybe I can get away with it. LOL!!!

Tony go to a DOT yard and get some big wood blocks from them, thats what I got, and Frank uses the same,
