May need to go hydroboost or electric pump-

My Mach 1 brakes are rock-hard and barely stop the car. I swapped the booster and that improved nothing.
Today I ran a long vacuum line from my truck to my car's booster and guess what? Power brake pedal that drops like it should an inch or so when the vacuum hits it.
So I guess my custom cam's 10" of vacuum is not up to the task, and it's staying, so I need some outside vacuum source or the hydroboost. I've begun to see complaints about both.
Is there anyone on this board that is happy with either of these alternatives?

MANY people here are very happy with the Hydroboost. Since not everyone is building the same setup there will be some who fall outside the "I bolted it up and it was perfect" spectrum. But overall it is a very good setup. Proof to that is the use of Hydraulic assited braking in newer Cars (ie. Ford Mustang Cobras) and Trucks (ie. 2500 and up Chevy trucks and all Chevy Tahoes from ~2001+).
I can't stand vacuum pumps. Ran one once, hated it. When I built the new engine I used a wider LSA Hyd Roller so I got idle vacuum back, but the brakes were never really good after a hard acceleration or two. That is why I went Manual 5+ years ago. Now that there is Hydroboost I would try it out. I have it on my list.
