      Global West ?

Anyone have problems with ordering from GW? I placed an order 3 weeks ago for some aluminum body/subframe bushings. I received an e-mail confirmation, but no ETA for shipping. I waited a week, then sent an e-mail to their shipping dept. asking about the status of my order. Waited another week, never received a response. Called the only phone # I could find on their site. It was a tech line, and the tech said he could not answer shipping questions. So I waited another week thinking they just MIGHT show up. Still haven't received anything. Their site says they ship UPS ground, meaning 5-7 days tops. Anyone on here know how I can get ahold of them to get a status on my order? This is holding my project up (not that I'm thrashing for SEMA or anything) but I have most of the new suspension parts ready to go on, but the body bushings need to be installed with the car on the ground, so I can't put the car in the air to begin the teardown and installation of the rest of the suspension until I install the bushings.

This has been the mark of GW for many years. They do build SOME nice products but ship times are horrible.

Let's just say I'm being held hostage for $170 by them and they don't answer e-mail. I'll leave it at that.

Great . I knew I should've ordered the SpeedTech bushings. This is what I get for trying to save a measley $20.

Call them again. Ask for Doug. If he's not there, ask for Kevin. If they aren't there, the shipping guy's name is Steve. Call them repeatedly if necessary. They were late by a week sending me my upper arms and lower bushings. I called them, they said they'd ship that friday and to call then to get the tracking number. I called the next monday to get that, and they said it shipped the previous friday. I got my parts the next day, but that's because it's only a two day ship to northern California.

When I ordered my a arms from them years ago they were slow, but last month when I ordered some bushings they went out right away.
Did you ask if they had the parts in stock? Alot of times you have to wait for a production run, I waited 4 weeks for my quadralink kit from DSE.

I always order thru Year One for GW stuff. I found out a long time ago your stuff will come in on time through Y1. I guess they have some sort of agreement on shipping time frames.

I waited for weeks for some upper control arms. Sounds like it is better to order their stuff through a bigger company. Saves time.

Bad experience here too. Was told parts were in stock when ordered. Many phone calls, flat out lies, and a month later, I got my sweet parts.

      My experience

Parts: Absolutely beautiful well built suspension products

      Delivery Time: Unpredictible

Incorrect parts sent: Mismatched brake kit, incorrect hub studs, second hub set still wrong, had to have hubs machined to fit. Anyone need some spares?

Critical Hub Information: Incorrect and costly when buying custom wheels (wheels had to be sent back to Forgeline and I paid for fix and shipping both ways)

      Customer Service: No comment

I really wanted to use their UCA with the new AFX spindles on the malibu, but could not stomach the heartburn again, sorry.

Its comforting to know that people share similar terrible experiences with customer service. It's the club everyone is a part of and doesn't know it!

I've got 6 months worth of pay (college student) being held hostage by a certain reputable company in North Carolina. You'd think that spending 9+ months of pay with a particular business might warrant a phone call if a part were discontinued, but nooo.

If all goes well I expect to see the order I placed in April, sometime near the middle of June.

Same experience with GW here. Good products but bad service (from everyone other than Doug anyways.)

My biggest gripe is that it seems nobody in their shop talks to each other-- so they all have either incomplete or conflicting information.

Ended up waiting 8 months for my LCA's when I was told 2 weeks. Little did I know when I ordered they were still in development, I ended up getting one of the very first pairs. However, it took 6 months of twice weekly phone calls until I finally asked for Doug and that's when he said "these things are pre-order because they're still undergoing development testing-- didn't anyone tell you?"

However, a few years later when doing GW suspension on a friend's 66 Chevelle things were shipped promptly and I had the parts in a week. However, they screwed up and sent the wrong UCA's... but to their credit all it took was one quick phone call and they overnighted another set of UCA's to me and also sent a call tag to take the old stuff back.

If I had to do it again I'd go through a stocking distributor.

I actually had good service with them and almost got TWO sets of UCA's FREE! When I ordered my UCA's, the girl took my order and thanked me, WITHOUT TAKING MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER! I had to stop her and ask if she wanted money or were they running a special on free UCA's that day. Wait it gets much better. Four days after I received my order, a guy at work tells me that I have a package downstairs...you guessed it! Another set of UCA's. I should have kept them because of their lack off, but I decided to be a model American and be honest. Hopefully when I place the $1200 order for the remainder of my suspension parts, they'll double ship me again. If they do, be checking th suspension forum for some great deals on 67-69 Camaro rear and front suspension parts.

I thought your comments were very gentle Bill considering how much you spent of red labels and all
