      Heel Toe Shifting

How do you guys rig up your pedals for heel-toe downshifting? I have a 67 camaro with factory pedal assembly, added a hydroboost, and front wilwood brakes. I lowered the brake pedal as far as I dared, but it still really wont work. Plus they seem too far apart(width-wise). Thanks for any suggestions!

make the pedal assembly bend to where it works for you.

Honestly, I'd go borrow a car that has great pedal placement, or test-drive it..or whatever. (WRX, Porsche Carrera, 240sx) and then copy what you like about those pedal arrangements. Perhaps make the gas pedal stick up a little higher?

You'll probably have to raise the gas pedal. I'd try a block of wood taped on the gas pedal and play with various thicnesses until you have it right, then alter the pedal to achieve that.

The brake pedal needs to be about level with the gas pedal when the brakes are applied.
Big cars can set up to use the ball of the foot on the brakes, then the heel or arch can blip the throttle.

Smaller cars like formula fords use "ball and ball" where the left side of the ball of the foot is on the brake pedal, the right half is on the gas. This is a bit tougher to master since it's a delicate balance and it works better with very soft shoe soles with no plastic, just thin leather, so you can feel where the pedals are.
67 Camaro RS that will be faster than anything Mary owns.

      Heres one approach...

Just a wider piece of plate bolted to the pedal once you get them to the correct height

      :-D
