      1969 Camaro almost done(LS2 & KB blower)

I can almost see the finish line. I have been working on the car since about December.

Mostly, I have been waiting on the blower, which was finally released earlier this month.

I think I have a couple more weekends left. I will post dyno numbers when done. The motor is an LS2 with 9:1 forged piston, forged rods, ported heads, and blower cam.

I owe Tony Whatley credit. He helped alot with a parts list from his 69 Camaro.

Dang, you are coming along nicely now! Glad to see the KB showed up, that car is going to be wicked fast.

BTW, my LS2 in the C6 put down 550 rwhp at only 5psi boost. Stock engine except for a 230/230 114 cam, longtubes, and the Magnacharger. That KB should put down even more impressive numbers!

depends on where the crack is. Since the blocks are aluminum, yes they can be welded. If it is an area where there could be high stresses, it might be a better idea to start with a new block.

Did the blower you bought come with an A2W intercooler or is that just for the Corvette set-up? I was leaning toward the Pro-Charger until I saw the Kenne-Bell set-up on LS1tech.com. It looks like less of a packaging nightmare if you ask me.

Beautiful car man, as much as I LOOVE turbos it's nice to see something different. :3gears:

In regards to the cracked LS6, as was stated aluminum blocks can be repaired very easily, but it all depends on the location of the crack. I've seen promod aluminum big blocks that had a rod come through the side be saved, just have to find someone qualified to fix it.

Though I have to say with how common LS6 blocks are it might be cheaper to just buy a good one if you have to have it sent out.

Scogin918: The KB blower does have an air to water intercooler and a heat exchanger in the the front. I ordered the "Hot Rod" kit. It is the same blower minus the hood, intake plumbing, and boost-a-pump.

Stoker420: I used a Unisteer rack and ATS mounts. I did have to cut the oil pan to clean the rack. I removed as little as possible and had it welded locally.

JoeleanLS1: The kit came in boxes. The Fed Ex label showed 90 lbs. That would be for everything.

It's alive!! I started the car last night. It sound pretty good. You can barely hear the blower. Once I get the finder and hood on the car, it will head to MTI. MTI will tweak the computer and dyno the car. I will post dyno numbers.

Congrats! That sucker should make some nice power. Got some smaller pulleys handy -just in case-?

The blower is suppose to have a 8.5 psi pulley on it. KB does not really have a good idea which pulley I need with a LS2 engine and my other mods. We will use this one as a baseline and go from there.

I am guessing it will make more like 5 psi with this pulley (3.5"). 10 psi is the target. Jayson said I may be able to run a little more.
