      1967 buick sportwagon

I am in the process of building a Jason Rushforth designed 1967 Buick Skylark Sportwagon with some GS options. The chassis is completed with full ART airride / tubular upper control arms/ Wilwood Brakes/ Big sway bars etc. 18" and 20" Intros but also have a set of Budnik gassers. The body has had a lite shave and is about ready for paint. Ice Blue with a pearl white roof and a retro interior by Ol Skool Customs. The 462 C.I. buick 455 with a turbo 400 . The frame is done waiting for the body. We own a Custom Powder Coating job shop and have every available part powder coated. This will be our show car for 2008 selected Good-Guys events .

The wagon is in Super Rod magazine this month October 2007 . Special thanks to Buckaroo Publications and Josh Mishler for the great debut story.

Bill, slooooooooooooooooooow down. You are going to have a heart attack!

By the way, once you own a wagon, its hard to go back with a 2 door. Too many darn uses for the wagon. We have have had 5 of them over the years.. Nice car! Starting to set a new trend.

Wanting and getting are two different things. The older I get, the more I want, I will never be able to retire if I keep on....lol

Sorry if this has been already asked or pointed out. But why do the wheels not match on the passenger side? Looks to me like the front wheel is on the wrong side. Other than that I think it looks great. Reminds me of my childhood. My parents had one similar, & about the same color.

      Thanks Ben!

Oh and Scott's right. You have the left front wheel on the right side so your directional wheels are going 2 different directions

Maybe he's thinking outside the box. Everyone has them going the same direction...

Had a couple minutes waiting for prints to finish...here's an idea:

You could probably graft in a door and window from an elcamino. The only problem is getting the rear glass and extending the window trim.

Don't mind the awful wheel chop in there. They were first ones I found and spent about 3 seconds throwing them in.

      I like it!!

Ben why did you have to go and do that? Now Iam on craigslist looking for an el camino!!! Dude that looks wicked! I wonder actually HOW much work that would be to pull this off?

My best educated and scientific estimation is.....A WICKED LOT....(sorry, that's the Mass-speak coming through).

Seriously though, it's doable. Time and money my friend. The key is not reinventing the wheel as much as possible. You may need to use the whole rear door jamb+door of an Elcy to do it, but I sure haven't seen one of these around yet.

I don't have the car in front of me but I'm sure any glass or high quality tinted Lexan guy can cut (and shape if it's not flat) that glass from an accurate template. I extended the window but left the original wheelbase and rear section alone. Of course, that's photoshop.

I hate to say it but you're life would probably be easier if you started with an Elcy and added the rear roof, tailgate and windows from a wagon than adding the doors and jambs from an Elcy to a wagon.
