      Howe Ball Joints?

Anyone used the Howe Ball joints with the extended stud from SCANDC on a '69 F-body?

Yes we have, go to www.scanc.com there is a photo of the subframe on that site.

At this time we cant give you fisrt hand exsperience, but these arms have been around for a while. They have been used on many road course cars, and used on street cars with no problems as far as breaks or structure integratiy. Great adjustablity and the look good.

I would call Savitske Classic Customs and speak with Marcus. He is knows what he's doing when it comes to suspension, and he's a good guy to talk to. I think you would be very pleased with his products.

IMO...I would run them on my before any others, just for the adustablity and the re-buildable ball joints, which are taller as well.

      Good luck.

I will be using the products from SC&C this year. After sifting through all the products available, I think theirs offer the best compromise of cost, adjustability & rebuildability (is that even a word?) I will be running the tall upper & lower ball joints, tie rods (if needed) and adjustable spring perches & short circle track springs. They are also installing del-a-lums in the stock lowers along with their upper arms.

I will have a broad range of adjustment of caster, camber & ride height & also the abilty to corner weight the car.

That should be plenty to get me in trouble.......

Allstar Perfomance makes some cool adjustable balljoints. pitstopusa.com sell them for under $40

They also come in chrysler screw in style. Just thought I would mention this option.

Keith, depending on your ride height and if you`re running a version of the G mod or not you may or may not need offset cross shafts to get a good performance alignment with our tall upper ball joints and the GW arms. The lower it is the more likely it will be. We have a number of customers doing it though with good results. You won`t have the versitility and range of adjustment you would with our adj. arms but you`ll still get a lot of the geometry and handling gain.

Alcino, those are monoball style ball joints. They serve a purpose but their range of movement is only 16* vs. 32* for a true ball joint so they often end up binding before you use your full range of suspension travel (on a street car). When uses as lower ball joints there were really fast because the races are so small and actually intended more for radial loads than axial ones. Some years ago we learned about both the range of travel and rapid wear the hard way! Back then they were the only show in town though. Mark SC&C
