      American Speed engines

      www.amerspeed.com
Has anybody here bought an engine from these guys? They seem to have a good rep, but I have not heard much in the way of real world experience. I am very interested in one of their 427 small blocks for my '68 Camaro. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks,
      Andy

BTW, I attached a copy of their 550hp 427 dyno sheet. This is the motor I am interested in. What do you guys think?

they seem to be reputable, but an LS2 will cost less and it will be new if your local gm dealer sells it to you. I found them for sale for less than 6000.00. but a 427 small block is way cool.

You're right that American Speed does have an excellent reputation. I've met people from time to time at local cruise-ins and shows who run their engines and are satisfied customers.

They are also frequently talked about in car magazines. I remember one article outlining their 383/480 horsepower engine. Looked pretty sweet.

I have heard a lot of good things about their lower horsepower engines. Can't say anything about the high output ones though.
