      Questions on 65-67 vettes

Where does a guy find parts for these beasts (I see classic does'nt have a catalouge). How much work and aftermarket parts are there to get these cars to handle/stop?
I've got a 406 to use, can a t56 fit w/o major issues? Big brakes? largest tire/wheel combo? Weight of these fg bodied cars? Looking at ebay item #4629458195, Yeah I'm not crazy about red (and certainly not a red rear window), but I'm curious why the car looks like it's set up for off road clearance, especially the front. Can these cars be set up (w/o breaking the bank) to sit lower, especially in the front?
      Thx for info!

      Long Island corvette supply

These guys http://licorvette.com/ only sell parts for midyears. I used them for most of the stuff I replaced on my midyear. They offer a discount on orders over 1K (I think) and you could probably build an entire car from their cataloge. They had fast service as well, I would fax my orders to them and the stuff would show up in a day or two.

to get a T56 in there you will need to cut and reweld the trans crossmember if its a manual or youll have to remount the auto one further back as its a bolt in from the factory. manual is fixed xmember. i believe some tunnel work will be needed as well. the C2 tunnel is small.

your talking a lot of work to get a decent tire under them. 8in rim at the most on a stock car. most people graph flares onto the body instead of tucking the rims under the car.

there are many aftermarket peices availible for the C2 as the C3 is basically the same frame and theres lots of parts for those. some minor work will make most C3 parts fit the C2. the biggest problem is the fact that the body gets in the way.

steeroids makes a rack and pinion for the car. Vette Brakes has some really good suspension stuff, but its not the prettiest honestly. Dewitts has you covered on radiators. any engine you want will fit in the car. the frame may not handle the weight or power though.

just keep in mind the C2s are the most valuable and sought after vettes. nothing will be cheap and many people will give you crap for cutting one up. i wont be one of those. let me know if you need some parts located. ive done a fair amount of work on C2s and 3s so i have some decent connections.

I dont know if this will help but the Transmission people in KNOXVILLE - Kiessler( I THINK IT IS ) has a set up for Manuals in the Midyear vettes .( WITHOUT TRANS TUNNEL MODIFICATIONS )

They wanted me to bring my 63 down to them ( Because its a EARLY car and is different in some way ) to make the correct components to do the install of a 5 or 6 speed .
They assured me no trans tunnel mods would be done.

      Its original so i passed.

I would think that BILL HOWELL would know the correct name if im wrong since he lives down that way....

Thanks for all the replies guys. The voice in my head keeps telling me I need more cars too, while the other voice in the house tells me I need less. She does remind me that I'm the one that said I'd sell one of the camaros before I got another car, and that has'nt happened yet.
In fact, it appears that a C2 may not handle the 406 I have in mind, and that one of these vettes would take more effort, time and $ than I have spent with the 69 camaro to get it to do the same thing.
Sounds like for now I'll hang with the 69 I have, but I do like the looks of those C2's!
My dream of a 3000lb car that handles, with this 560 horse 406 and some giant brakes will have to just wait. Dang it!
