      68-72 A-body Q's

      2 PARTS:

      1) I bought double adjustable upper and lower rear control arms for my Chevelle. Here is a link to what they look like although these are for G-bodies.

      Question, they have no provision for running a rear sway bar. How bad is this, should I go another direction, what direction. Stock my Chevelle had no rear swaybar.

      I am borrowing my folks truck, thank you very much Dad, and need the car ASAP. The parts really need to be bolt on because of this.

      2) And maybe this should be its own post, but for bolt on front suspension upgrades what do folks here suggest? Budget is a concern. I have Hotchkis springs, would like to keep them eventhough I know I can get a pair of springs really cheap (<$100). I was looking at SC&C, only thing slowing me down is I havent contacted them to see if wheel size is a factor.

      It depends on what you'll be doing with the car. Wolf Racecraft has a rear sway bar that mounts between the frame rails where the coil springs are positioned for A-bodies.
      They also offer rear suspension kits, you can view they're setup at www.wolferacecraft.com

      15" or larger wheels shouldn't be a problem with the tall ball joints. I test fit a 2" drop spindle on my 67 and it cleared the lower ball joint with both 15 and 16" wheels. The top had plenty of clearance as well. These were stock joints, but the drop spindle has more drop than the tall ball joints will give you. I believe it is 1/2 - 3/4" drop.

      I have nearly identical arms from wolfe racecraft. Depending on your spring rate, you may not need a rear sway bar.

      If you think you'll need one, look at the double-adjustable lower arms from www.umiperformance.com .

      As for the SC&C stage II kit up front, I have it, currently with 15x7 wheels and have no problems with my 3-3/4" backspacing.

      Thanks for the help guys. I am 99% sure I am going with the SC&C stage II kit in the front unless I fall into some additional cash for the stage III kit.

      That rear sway bar from wolferacing talks about drag applications. Will it be suitable for mostly street driving, a pass or 2 at the drags, and eventually some "spirited driving" (that phrase always tickles me) maybe some auto-x, or if I get the some type of track event. (there was no balls symbol, so bananna)
