How dumb is this cat?

Dumb cat...
"Lulu" came up missing the 12th of March. She is an inside cat. Anti-social, very flighty, scared of her own shadow type...
She doesn't make a lot of noise, not very vocal. We figured she got outside and was gone. The last we saw of her was that Sunday morning. My wife fed her breakfast and she disappeared.
My daughter has heard her mewing a couple of times but the cat would clam up as soon as we started making noise looking for her. My wife heard her mew (the first time any of us other then the daughter actually heard her) last Saturday morning at 3:50am as she was waiting for the dog to do his business outside. She woke me up all in a tizzy and we spent the next hour and a half looking for this stupid cat. I pulled off drywall in the garage and actually heard her myself after doing that so I started to believe the "crazy ladies".
After I heard her I knew where she was so it was a simple matter to pull of an access panel to get her out. I had to coax her out with food though.
I found her living in the crawl space under our entryway. She wasn't trapped, she could get in and out (under the stairway landing) as she pleased, but she spent 1 day short of a month sequestered under the entryway floor. There is no heat under there so it gets cold... She was VERY thirsty and VERY hungry and she had dropped 3.3 lbs... According to the vet she was in good shape and had good color...
I just wish I could speak cat so I could ask her what she was thinking?
Dumb cat... She laid on my lap for about three hours Saturday night burrowed under a blanket...
My wife and I are going to try the "Lulu Diet"... NOT!...

9 out of 10 of cats are complete knuckle heads. I do like the cool ones though. The ones that act more like dogs. I had one that hung out in the garage and "helped" work on the car. He didn't care if I was grinding, welding, or whatever.

I see a lot of posters for lost cats in my area. This in an area where on any given spring or summer evening you can hear the coyotes and foxes. Wild canines + Arrogant domestic cats = full canine belly.

I cannot stand cats personally. I just find dogs to be so much more amiable and easy to love. Not to mention cats give me horrible allergies

I have a cat that can fetch a ball. You get tired of throwing it before the cat gets tired of bringing the ball back to you.
She will growl when someone is at the door. Also if there are birds outside on the lawn she will chirp like a bird.

I also got a laser pointer and she liked it for the first few minutes. then she relized I was the one holding the laser pointer and she came up to my arm and bit me. Smartest cat I have ever known.

If she went and hid, there is a good chance she was sick. For some reason, cats will go hide, without eating or drinking, when they are ill.


Our cat, a Himalayan, will fetch, loves every sort of table scrap you never thought a cat would eat, is VERY affectionate, and lets me hang her upside down by her hips while I rub her tummy... while purring like crazy! Cats are wierd.

If she went and hid, there is a good chance she was sick. For some reason, cats will go hide, without eating or drinking, when they are ill.

My cat is also the same. She wants to eat everything we eat.
She like potato chips, pickels, olives, she will attack you if have any type of deli meat. Its hilarious.

She also doesn't like to drink water from the dish she will jump on the bathroom sink and meow till you come turn on the faucet and she drinks from the running water.

I think our cats are related! Ours is also quite fond of wine, tomato sauce, apples, beans, she's definitely not from our planet. She also does the sink thing.... not very endearing at 3am!

Thanks for all of the responses guys! I am NOT a cat lover but what do you do when the damn things attach themselves to you.
Lulu is doing great! She is a mooch for sure and pesters us for food all the time now. We are still keeping quantity low but increased the frequency until her stomach gets back to normal...
I see a few of you have Himalayans also. Lulu isn't one, she's ALL black, but my daughter brought home a Himalayan kitten a while ago (he is 7 or 8 months now) and he is a HOOT! He eats just about anything you toss to him and will beg for pickles and olives... Very weird but we think it is the salt... Lulu will have nothing to do with him and hisses, spits and growls whenever he gets near her.
