The movie was actually toned down from what the real Burt Munroe was all about.
The cat in the movie that made question about Burt's tires while misdirecting his way through tech inspection... is in my club... as are quite a few others that were there that day (his first time out.)
All I can say is that there are some stories that you wouldnt even comprehend... that dude was a straight up pimp horn dog.

That movie is a testiment to what most kiwis are about. We have what we call "the number 8 wire" therory, anything can be fixed with some number 8 wire, hehehe.
Thats why so many kiwis do so well in car building/motorsport scenes over there.
Anyway its good to see you guys can have a bit of insight to new zealand.
