Drop Spindles or Drop Springs

I've heard that most of the drop spindle kits limit your brake choices. Plus you could run into tie rod clearance issues depending on the rim you are going to run.

I'll 2nd that. Dropped spindles limit the front wheel width and backspace too much. See the photo on David's site. Jack

That is all true for first gens, but he has a 2nd gen. Does this still hold true?

I think it is the same for all applications. The worst part with Drop Spindles is that the geometry gets all screwed up.

I thought that the sole benefit of dropped spindles was that they maintained stock geometry of the suspension. Not that many of us are looking for that.

It might be OK on a second gen Camaro because the Tie-Rod end is higher, not near the rim, but it will drop two inches with a drop spindle so it's going to be closer to the rim.



Dropping with springs sets the suspension on a part of the curve with more neg camber gain. The lower arm won't be ideal but it'll work ok.
